YOUNG CLIMATHON
It is an initiative that is being carried out with the support of the international EIT Climate-KIC program «Young Innovators». During “Young Climathon” various companies and NGOs provided youngsters with real life problems connected to the environment, and they used the knowledge gained during the international program to create innovative solutions for these problems.
Their best ideas were:
1) Strategic involvement of participants: they involved youth from one of the biggest youth NGOs (several hundred people) that is primarily working with the outdoor topic.
2) Using an event format appropriate for the target audience – hackathon has a great potential to engage youth.
3) Youth was involved in solving real life problems that were provided by the companies – great way of engagement and empowerment to do something in their own surroundings.
